A film by Nina Danino

TEMENOS 75 mins colour and b+w (1998) is co-production with the British Film Institute, Arts Council of England National Lottery and Centre International de Creation Video-Montbeliard, France and developed with funding from the London Production Fund.

TEMENOS has a unique soundtrack by internationally acclaimed performers SAINKHO, SHELLEY HIRSCH, New York avant-garde vocalist and soprano CATHERINE BOTT.

"A searingly beautiful invocation of the persistence of place, that has the power to inscribe contemporary political and social circumstances with the memory of the past....Like Tarkovsky's Stalker, Rosselini's Stromboli and more recently Michal Rovner's Border,Temenost is a haunted landscape of unmapped histories and emotions." Helen de Witt.

Nina Danino will be showing the full version of her film 'Temenos' as part of the 'Sacred Places' season.

"Temenos means 'ritual precinct'; a sacred place, a place apart. Adisquieting dimension manifests itself in a becalmed landscape. A film about haunting - a metaphysical thriller"

TEMENOS will be showing next at the Centre Wallonie Bruxelles, 46, rue Quincampoix, 75004 Paris. 7th November 2000 at 20.00 hr. Contact: 01 46 59 01 53.
