'The Synaptic Sun' 08:41 2006 (re-edited 2008)
A new vision of the Sun is described. That which was once so familiar and the source of all life, is now a strange and mysterious land inviting adventure. It is also a dangerous place, edgy and unpredictable. The torrent of light and energy we see comes from tornadoes of electrified plasma arcing at its surface. This world is seen through the perceptions of a mind returning to the bicameral (split-brain) state. According to Julian Jaynes, the bicameral mind functions as a transference of metaphor from the right temporal lobe to the conciously aware left. As the movie progresses the crew regress to a 'quasi-schizoid' state of binary hallucinogenic visions. This movie has been selected for the '700IS' Experimental Movie Festival 2007. 'Impermanent Way' 03:38 2007
Another short where the camera is taken for a ride on my model railway layout. Trolleying around and under various domestic interior scenarios the train eventually comes to grief. Help is on hand on a massive scale. |
