A four layer perspex sandwich with negative curved outline. Layer 3 is painted with blow dried spirit dye leaving graduated evaporation marks.
Layer 3 also incorporates a disc in blue, with dissolved silver powder, as if glimpsing a telescopic view of a distant nebula. An arrangement of four lead splashes on layer 2 counterpoints the four hex bolts of the piece.
This unit recalls the retinal impact of photons of light during an astronomical observation. The whole is experienced again as a machined artifact.
