GULL FREQUENCIES, HASTINGS, SUSSEX 16-08-09, 2009

Gulls were recorded calling on a summer evening in Hastings Old Town.

The recorded sounds were loaded into a sound emission analysing computer program, 'SeaWave', which allowed the sounds to be visualised as a graphic, showing frequency in relation to time. The sound frequencies were then printed onto acetate in negative and placed in Perspex jars.

This sound frequency work was made for 'Undercurrent' at Stone Squid Experimental Art Space, Hastings in August 2009.

For SOUTH EAST, APT Gallery in September 2009 an expanded two shelf, twelve jar version of Gull Frequencies was made.
